As the first release from Ceiling Spirit's second album (and slight reinvention), 'The Bloodwren Part II' was an important one to get right. Although the visualiser I created was originally intended as just the simple animated loop, I was inspired to take it a step further and add an abstract sense of narrative to the piece; clouds and the cosmos flying past the bird we see flying on its perilous journey.
As art director for the album too, I've been able to provide a cohesive visual language for every element of the record, from the cover art to these video pieces. More to come...
VISUALISER
Each frame was hand-painted in Photoshop CC to create the flight cycle animation. The fluid background is quite compressed in the YouTube quality video but in the above stills you can see how the background is painted to move with the motion of the bird's wings.
