Client: Cracked Earth Comics
Date: January - June 2020
Brief: Ollie Nancarrow approached me in January 2020 about developing an idea for a superhero comic book series that could help to educate its readers about climate change in a new way that wasn't obvious or preachy. He had a basic concept that we then fleshed out and he wrote the story for issues 1-3, a four part opener (two parts in issue 1). I illustrated and coloured everything, including front covers, with a combination of traditional and digital techniques. The front covers below were my first two attempts at a fully digital painting.
Issue 1 was released in May 2020 though Issue 2 is currently on indefinite hold, as is Issue 3. Click here to read issue 1 for free, should you fancy!

Motion cover
I also produced a motion cover for the announcement of issue 2, something I'd like to do more often as I believe it to be quite eye-catching, particularly on social media.
